Cooling fog from the Pacific Ocean blankets the Russian River Valley’s vineyards, reducing temperatures by 35 to 40 degrees at night and fostering a long, even growing season. Fermenting the Chardonnay grapes in a combination of French, American and Hungarian oak barrels adds complexity to the variety’s rich fruit flavors and maintains bright acidity. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and then barrel aging for 6 months. This bottled wine has 14.2% alcohol by volume. Folie a Deux wines are exclusively sourced from Sonoma appellations, where each variety thrives in local terroir.
